RN Other 2026 Race and Ethnicity, Neighborhood Social Deprivation and Medicare Home Health Agency Quality for Persons Living With Serious Illness. The American journal of hospice & palliative care Seriously ill older adults in the US were less likely to receive home health care from high-quality agencies if they were Black, had Medicaid, or lived in more socially deprived neighborhoods. The gap by race did not depend on neighborhood deprivation. RN Survey 2025 Development and Validation of the Family and Community Nursing Advanced Practice Scale. Journal of clinical nursing A new scale identifies five core areas of advanced practice for family and community nurses: clinical care, leading practice, clinical reasoning, health promotion, and ethics. The research domain was largely absent from the final tool, suggesting a gap in advanced research engagement. RN Cohort 2025 Assessing the Impact of an Integrated Community Care Program on Unplanned Hospital and Emergency Department Representations: Interrupted Time Series Analysis. Journal of advanced nursing After PAC, RIR and HARP were merged into one Community Care program, readmission and ED-only re-presentation trends did not change significantly at 30, 60 or 90 days. Enrolments rose, but the readmission and ED outcomes were null. RN Other 2025 A Mixed Methods Evaluation of a Nurse-Led Domestic and Family Violence Service. Journal of advanced nursing 233 women in a nurse-led domestic violence service were contacted quickly and assessed for injuries, including strangulation. Staff said outreach and coordination helped them reach health care. This was a service evaluation, not a tested intervention. RN Survey 2026 Antibiotic Usage Patterns of Community-Dwelling Adults in Thailand: A Cross-Sectional Study. Journal of advanced nursing Patients' antibiotic use behaviour was good on average, but 54.5% had inadequate medicine literacy and 13.3% thought antibiotics could stop once symptoms improved. Patient literacy, awareness, care process, nurse experience and diarrhoea prescribing were linked to behaviour. RN Cohort 2026 The Development of a Model to Predict Cognitive Decline Within 12 Months in Home Care Clients. Journal of clinical nursing A model using routine home-care assessments flagged clients without a dementia diagnosis who were likely to decline cognitively within 12 months. It was moderately accurate, so it can prompt further review rather than diagnose decline. RN Qualitative 2025 Factors and Strategies Influencing Integrated Self-Management Support for People With Chronic Diseases and Common Mental Disorders: A Qualitative Study of Canadian Primary Care Nurses' Experience. Journal of advanced nursing Nurses managing both physical and mental health conditions in primary care reported feeling unprepared, with training focused on chronic disease and no clear protocols for mental health. They described referring patients away rather than supporting them, citing workload and unclear roles as barriers. OT RN Pilot 2025 A Multi-Method Study to Develop and Pilot Test an Interprofessional Transitional Care Model for Frail Older Adults - AdvantAGE. Journal of advanced nursing An interprofessional transitional care model, with nurse-led home visits, was piloted in 62 frail older adults; 14 were readmitted. It refined the model but did not test whether it reduces readmissions. RN Cohort 2026 A 28-Day Ecological Momentary Assessment of Mental Health Among Psychiatric Outpatients With Suicidal Ideation. Journal of advanced nursing Average 28-day suicidal ideation did not differ between high- and low-risk outpatients. Daily depression, anxiety and stress were associated with higher momentary suicidal ideation, especially depression, and high-risk showed flatter daily patterns. RN Qualitative 2025 Parents' Experiences of Family-Centred Care in Home-Based Paediatric Care of Their Child With Life-Limiting Illness: A Qualitative Descriptive Study. Journal of advanced nursing Parents valued home-based care for children with life-limiting illness but found it burdensome when services were not tailored. RN Systematic Review 2026 Clinical Guidelines for Virtual Health Assessment and Care: A Scoping Review. Journal of advanced nursing Clinically focused guidelines for virtual health assessment remain sparse despite widespread telehealth use. Most existing resources prioritize technical logistics over patient care. Nurses and clinicians lack standardized frameworks for safe triage, physical examination, and follow-up in virtual settings. RN Cohort 2026 Relationship Between Health Literacy, Health Protective Behaviour, Quality of Life and Social Health in Older Adults Living in the Community. Journal of clinical nursing Older adults had an average social health score of 50.48 ± 8.98 on a scale from 5 to 125. Lower scores were linked to older age, higher health literacy, lower quality of life, living alone, living with children, higher education and poor health perception. OT RN Survey 2025 Examining the Relationship Between Daily Activity Levels and Elder Abuse and Neglect: Bringing Light on Elder Abuse. Transition readiness was not part of the link overall, but may matter when children had incontinence, catheter or mobility needs. RN Cohort 2026 The Role of Nursing Diagnoses in Enhancing Prognostic Accuracy in Home-Based Cancer Care: Insights From a Retrospective Cohort Study. Journal of clinical nursing In home-based cancer care, nurses' documented diagnoses of poor nutrition and death anxiety, plus a high palliative prognostic score and terminal illness, were associated with death. They may help flag patients needing earlier comfort-focused palliative care. RN RCT 2026 How does addressing diabetes distress lead to positive glycemic change? Results from the EMBARK trial. Patient education and counseling Adults with type 1 diabetes and high distress who joined group programs had lower distress and lower HbA1c after 12 months. Programs that included emotional validation improved distress and problem solving more than education alone. Lower HbA1c was linked with more low glucose episodes. RN Qualitative 2025 Attitudes towards different weight loss approaches among adults with type 2 diabetes and obesity. Patient education and counseling Adults with type 2 diabetes and obesity preferred lifestyle changes first, then medication, and saw surgery as last resort. In 30 interviews, they wanted clinicians to avoid labels, personalize weight talk, and compare risks, benefits, and costs. RN Meta-Analysis 2026 Examining the Impact of Telehealth Stoma Care Interventions on the Ostomates: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis. Journal of clinical nursing Telehealth stoma care, delivered by nurses in most included studies, improved stoma adjustment and self-efficacy versus usual care, but did not show a reduction in anxiety and had inconsistent quality-of-life effects. RN Qualitative 2026 Caregiver experiences of children living with a diagnosed neurological disability and using medical cannabis. Journal of child health care : for professionals working with children in the hospital and community Caregivers of 12 children using medical cannabis described little physician guidance, caregiver-led trial-and-error dosing, and relief when they reported symptoms improved. Two families saw no benefit. These are experiences, not proof cannabis works. RN Qualitative 2025 A Qualitative Study Exploring the Experience of Double-Duty Nurse Caregivers. RN Systematic Review 2026 The Use of Triage in Primary Care in the UK: An Integrative Review and Narrative Synthesis. Journal of advanced nursing Nurse-led telephone triage in UK primary care shifted work from GPs to nurses, but some studies increased total contacts and showed mis-triage, low compliance and access inequities. RN Qualitative 2026 A Qualitative Study Exploring Nursing Scope of Practice for the Care of People Experiencing Homelessness. Journal of advanced nursing People experiencing homelessness and nurses said care should be non-judgemental, flexible and culturally safe, with nurses able to assess physical and mental health, manage wounds and medications, and navigate services. These are perceptions, not tested effects. RN RCT 2025 The Role of Social Support on Self-Management of Gestational Diabetes Mellitus: A Qualitative Analysis. Journal of midwifery & women's health Pregnant and postpartum patients with gestational diabetes said family, friends, and support groups helped with appointments, food, glucose checks, and motivation. Some support also caused stress through stigma, limited knowledge, or overly controlling reminders. RN Systematic Review 2025 Self-management interventions to improve health outcomes in youth living with congenital heart disease: a systematic review and narrative synthesis. European journal of cardiovascular nursing Transition support programmes for young people with congenital heart disease did not show better hospitalization or reintervention results, but some improved self-management, transition readiness, and self-efficacy. RN Systematic Review 2025 What Is Known About Family-Inclusive Inpatient Care From Patient and Family Perspectives? An Integrative Review. Journal of advanced nursing Patients and families described culturally safe care, relationship building, and clear information as helping them feel included. Culturally unsafe care, unwelcoming environments, inconsistent rules, and poor communication made them feel excluded. These are experiences, not proof any intervention works. RN Qualitative 2025 Nurturing Connection: The Emotional and Existential Dimensions of the Relationship Between Older Women and Registered Nurses in Aged Care. Scandinavian journal of caring sciences Older women and home-care nurses described their relationship as more than task delivery. Women valued nurses who noticed their home, shared life beyond care, and stayed consistent; nurses felt time and turnover made this hard. RN Cohort 2025 Effects of Sociospatial Inequality on Exposure to Stress, Symptoms of Depression, and Cortisol Rhythms in Pregnancy. Journal of obstetric, gynecologic, and neonatal nursing : JOGNN Cortisol slope and total output were not linked to sociospatial inequality. Pregnant women in concentrated privilege areas had fewer lifetime stress exposures, and elevated depression symptoms were more likely in concentrated deprivation. Income extremes showed larger cortisol rhythm fluctuations. RN Cohort 2025 A Multi-Outcome Prognostic Model for Community-Dwelling Older Adults Admitted to Skilled Nursing Facilities for Post-Acute Care. Journal of the American Medical Directors Association A model using age, diagnoses, hospital stay and comorbidities estimated death within 6 months and successful return to the community after skilled nursing. It can guide goals-of-care and discharge planning, but was not tested outside Medicare data. PT RN Cohort 2025 Family Caregiver Availability and Capacity Associated With Home Health Service Types for Patients With Dementia. Journal of the American Medical Directors Association For home health patients with dementia, clinician-reported lack of caregiver capacity for functional tasks was linked to receiving physical therapy; lack of caregiver availability for medical tasks was linked to receiving skilled nursing. RN Systematic Review 2025 A systematic review of psychosocial screening tools for identification of postpartum mental health status beyond depressive symptoms. Midwifery Postpartum screening beyond depression, especially anxiety and PTSD tools, can find cases missed by depression screening alone. But most studies did not show that screening led to more treatment or better symptoms, so referral pathways must be ready. RN Other 2025 Creating a Community of Safety in Black Maternal Health Research. Nursing research Black community members guiding a maternal health study said being listened to, shaping consent language, and helping create plain-language reports for participants made research feel safer. This describes a partnership process, not tested patient care. PT OT RN Other 2026 A Realist Evaluation of the Implementation and Use of Patient-Reported Outcomes in Four Value-Based Healthcare Programmes. Journal of advanced nursing Heart Failure nurses used PROMs to triage and plan resources, but patients did not self-manage or share decisions. In Epilepsy, mood scores identified problems without services to act on them. RN RCT 2025 Mental Health Stressors of the COVID-19 Pandemic Negatively Affect Self-Management of Comorbid Cardiovascular Disease Among Persons Living With HIV in the United States: A Qualitative Study. The Journal of the Association of Nurses in AIDS Care : JANAC In 24 adults living with HIV, hypertension and high cholesterol, worry and isolation were common, 14 reported worse mood, and distress was tied to poorer diet, activity and weight, but nearly all kept taking HIV and cardiovascular medicines. RN Qualitative 2026 Co-Producing Evidence-Based Care: Nurses' and Patients' Lived Experiences in Long-Term Condition Management. Journal of advanced nursing Nurses and patients in long-term condition care described co-producing care as relational work. Trust, time, and respect for lived experience mattered, while short appointments and target chasing made shared decisions harder. ← Previous PAGE 12 OF 19 Next →
