The cognitive scale found more people, while diagnosis-based measures found fewer but were less likely to label residents without cognitive impairment. RN Other 2025 Effects of Visitation Restriction on Antipsychotic Drug Use among Nursing Home Residents with ADRD during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Journal of the American Medical Directors Association Nursing home visitation restrictions during COVID-19 were not associated with a change in antipsychotic use among residents with dementia. Antipsychotic use still rose overall, from 18.9% to 24.9% in long-stay residents and 21.1% to 26.6% in short-stay residents.
