RN Systematic Review 2024 Use of Telenursing in the conservative treatment of patients with chronic renal insufficiency: scoping review. Revista latino-americana de enfermagem Remote nursing tools for chronic kidney disease were mapped in nine articles and one dissertation. Included studies reported improved adherence, self-care, monitoring and education, but this scoping review cannot show how much benefit patients get. PT OT RN Survey 2024 Prevalence and Risk Factors of Self-Reported Sarcopenia and Its Association With Multimorbidity in Community-Dwelling Older Adults: A Cross-Sectional Study. Nursing & health sciences Community older adults with two or more chronic conditions had self-reported sarcopenia more often: 43.5% versus 20.8%. RN Other 2025 Developing a clinical decision support framework for integrating predictive models into routine nursing practices in home health care for patients with heart failure. Journal of nursing scholarship : an official publication of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing Recent visit patterns, missed visits, and documented symptoms were among the strongest model signals of heart failure emergency risk, not routine vital signs. A proposed EHR alert could give nurses a four-day window before hospitalization or emergency visits. RN RCT 2025 Implementing Resourcefulness Training© with Parent Caregivers of Children Dependent on Medical Technology During the COVID-19 Pandemic: Lessons Learned from a Randomized Controlled Trial. Clinical nursing research Telehealth caregiver training for parents of technology-dependent children needed constant changes: virtual visits, text reminders, online logs, and preferred contact times. This paper reports delivery problems, not whether the training worked. RN Survey 2025 Determinants of Cervical Cancer Screening Among Rural Women in Zimbabwe. Public health nursing (Boston, Mass.) Among rural Zimbabwean women, only 274 of 840 had ever been screened for cervical cancer. Screening was less likely in women aged 25 to 45 years and those without medical insurance, and more likely in women living with HIV or with recent malaria. PT OT RN Other 2024 Multidisciplinary Inpatient Community Rehabilitation Programmes for Frail Older People: A Scoping Review. Nursing open Multidisciplinary inpatient rehabilitation for frail older people is reported in few studies, mostly focused on mobility and function. The intervention studies had no control group, and outcomes varied widely, so the review cannot show which programme works. RN Systematic Review 2024 Post-informal caregiver's perspectives and experiences of the support network: a systematic literature review and meta-synthesis. Revista da Escola de Enfermagem da U S P Adults who had stopped caring described support gaps after care ended: isolation, financial strain, grief, and services that stopped too soon. They wanted continued help, practical guidance, and community connection. RN Other 2025 Estimating the Prevalence of Child Abuse and Neglect Among Adolescents in Primary Care Through Diagnoses Codes and Free-Text EHR Clinical Notes. Journal of pediatric health care : official publication of National Association of Pediatric Nurse Associates & Practitioners Adolescent clinical notes contained more suspected or confirmed child abuse and neglect than diagnosis codes: 294 patients versus 111. Participants liked it, but the study does not show it works. PT OT RN Pilot 2024 A Pilot Home-Telehealth Program to Enhance Functional Ability, Physical Performance, and Physical Activity in Older Adult Veterans Post-Hospital Discharge. Research in gerontological nursing A 6-month home telehealth program with a physical activity trainer nearly doubled daily steps in older veterans post-discharge. Functional ability and physical performance showed modest, non-significant improvements. High dropout rates and small sample size limit conclusions on efficacy. PT RN Systematic Review 2024 Cultural Tailoring and Implementation Science for Cardiometabolic Interventions in Asian Americans: A Systematic Review. Nursing open Only three of nine studies in Asian American adults found significant weight, blood pressure, or A1C changes, although nine reported improvements in knowledge, self-efficacy, or behavior. Interventions varied widely, so no single culturally tailored approach is proven. RN RCT 2025 Nurse-Led Mobile Phone Intervention to Promote Self-Management in Type 2 Diabetes in Ghana: A Randomized Controlled Trial. RN Survey 2024 Quality of home visits by community health workers in primary care and associated factors. Revista latino-americana de enfermagem Just 51.9% of home visits by community health workers met the study's full set of quality actions. Teams that defined catchment areas, monitored health indicators, assessed user satisfaction, and used risk criteria were more likely to have adequate visits. RN Survey 2024 Development and Testing of the Comprehensive Prenatal Care Index: Relationship With Preterm Birth and Small for Gestational Age Across Racial and Ethnic Groups. Journal of midwifery & women's health Comprehensive prenatal care quality, including counseling and screening content, was associated with lower odds of preterm birth across racial and ethnic groups. It did not consistently predict small for gestational age. Visit count alone did not capture care quality. RN Case Report 2024 Negative pressure therapy in pediatric patient with surgical site infection: experience report. Revista da Escola de Enfermagem da U S P In a child with an infected abdominal surgical wound, surgery, cleaning, dressings, skin barriers and negative pressure therapy were followed by reduced wound size and wound assessment scores. PT RN Pilot 2024 Feasibility of Using Rebound Exercise in Community-Dwelling Adults With Neurological Disorders. Nursing & health sciences Supervised mini-trampoline rebound exercise was feasible and safe for community-dwelling adults with neurological disorders: 52 of 53 completed 12 weeks with no adverse events. Walking speed, blood pressure and activity improved, but without a control group efficacy is not proven. RN Qualitative 2024 Healthcare needs and expectations of family members caring for mental healthcare users in South Africa. Curationis Family caregivers described physical, psychological, social, financial, educational and spiritual needs. They expected medication access, home visits and day care rehabilitation. These are caregiver reports, not evidence that services improve outcomes. RN Cohort 2024 Validation of Spanish Version of the Spirituality and Spiritual Care Rating Scale (SSCRS-Sp) in Nursing Professionals. Nursing open A Spanish survey of 325 nurses showed the scale reliably captures their views on spiritual care, but its underlying structure differs from the original English version. Use the total score for training needs assessments, but do not rely on the original four subscales. RN RCT 2025 The feasibility of sharing digital audio-recordings of clinic visits online with older adults in primary care settings: A multisite trial. Patient education and counseling Older adults with diabetes and hypertension found online visit recordings feasible to use; 40 of 45 recording-group patients accessed recordings, and retention was 98%. Patients and clinicians reported recordings helped recall, but the trial was not powered to prove health benefits. RN Survey 2024 Factors Associated With Adolescents' Human Papillomavirus Vaccination Intention: A Cross-Sectional Survey. Nursing open Unvaccinated adolescents who felt at higher risk and saw supports like trusted advice, affordability and access reported stronger intention to get HPV vaccination. RN Qualitative 2024 Exploring sociocultural factors and ubuntuism for women living with HIV in rural Zimbabwe. Curationis Rural Zimbabwean women living with HIV described being excluded from community health and empowerment activities after disclosure. Patriarchal blame, loss of land, and education restrictions were reported alongside stress, isolation, and reduced access to care. OT RN Qualitative 2025 Perceptions of Frail Older Adults on Contributing Factors Causing the Onset of Crises Leading to Hospital Admissions: A Qualitative Study. Journal of advanced nursing Frail older adults saw a fall, UTI or dizziness as the reason for the emergency department visit, but described months of unaddressed decline, stigma around frailty and delayed help-seeking. RN Qualitative 2025 Co-creating an Indigenous-led virtual health services model for Indigenous Australians living with chronic disease. The Australian journal of rural health Indigenous consumers valued a virtual chronic disease service when they could control their own readings and when support came from local, culturally connected health coaches. More welcoming, less clinical technology and fewer device steps may help uptake. RN Other 2025 HPV Vaccine Hesitancy and Uptake: A Conceptual Analysis Using Rodgers' Evolutionary Approach. Journal of advanced nursing Nurses discussing HPV vaccination may find hesitancy linked to safety fears, misinformation, cultural beliefs, low perceived risk, cost and access, and trust in providers. RN RCT 2025 Perceptions of Coping With Breastfeeding Pain: A Secondary Analysis. Journal of midwifery & women's health Thirty of 57 parents said coping with breastfeeding pain felt different, describing it as new, time-limited, and tied to infant care; some feared failure. RN Other 2025 The Effect of Reminiscence Therapy on the Assessment of Depression, Anxiety and Self-Esteem in Community-Dwelling Older Adults: An Intervention Study. International journal of older people nursing In 24 community-dwelling older adults, 12 weeks of group reminiscence sessions were followed by lower depression and anxiety scores and higher self-esteem scores. Quality of life scores did not improve. RN Survey 2024 The impact of perception bias for cardiovascular disease risk on physical activity and dietary habits. International journal of nursing sciences Most adults misjudged their cardiovascular risk. Many overestimated it, but people with high calculated risk often underestimated it. RN Pilot 2025 Development of and Testing Novel Questionnaires Assessing Palliative Care-Related Knowledge, Attitudes, and Confidence Among Home Healthcare Clinicians, Patients, and Caregivers. Home healthcare now Home healthcare clinicians and patients/caregivers often lacked accurate pain and opioid knowledge, while attitudes toward palliative care were positive. The new questionnaires can measure this, but they do not prove training improves care. RN Other 2025 Enhancing primary healthcare in under-resourced communities with mobile health clinics. Nursing Haiti mobile clinics screened over 4,900 individuals from 2015 to 2019, found hypertension, diabetes, infections, and other conditions, referred critical cases to hospitals, and taught water purification and warning signs. It is a service model, not proven outcomes. RN Qualitative 2024 Health literacy development of Primary Health Care patients: qualitative research. Revista brasileira de enfermagem Patients with chronic disease said they built health knowledge mainly through family, friends, social media, body sensations and trusted professionals. These relationships shaped self-care, while online information was useful for learning but less helpful for acting on care.
