Workload, infant health problems, and pandemic barriers could still make consistent support difficult. RN RCT 2025 Central Nervous System Polypharmacy Among People Living With Dementia. Journal of the American Medical Directors Association Deprescribing education did not reduce the proportion of people with dementia meeting criteria for risky central nervous system polypharmacy. The most common high-risk medication combinations involved antidepressants, opioids, and gabapentin or pregabalin. RN Cohort 2025 Incidence of prevalent diseases in infants in Primary Health Care: a cohort study. More than half had at least one treatment, and most care was delivered by family health strategy doctors. RN RCT 2025 A Randomized Controlled Trial of a Telehealth Group Intervention to Reduce Perinatal Depressive Symptoms: A Mixed Methods Analysis. Journal of midwifery & women's health The mindfulness telehealth group did not reduce perinatal depression symptoms more than childbirth/parenting classes; both groups improved similarly, and participants valued connection and shared experience. RN RCT 2025 An Embedded Pragmatic Clinical Trial of the Individualized Positive Psychosocial Interaction (IPPI) Program. Journal of the American Medical Directors Association Resident mood improved immediately in 59% of brief preference-based one-to-one interactions delivered by nursing home staff. There was no control group, so this does not show IPPI reduced distress versus usual care. International journal of mental health nursing African migrants described stigma delaying mental health help-seeking: fear of being called mad, communal shame, and spiritual beliefs led some to suffer silently or seek church first. Clinicians should expect late presentation and ask about stigma and spiritual beliefs. RN Cohort 2025 Efficiency of AIMS: A 4-Week Recovery Oriented Suicide Prevention Pathway. International journal of mental health nursing In 552 people in suicidal crisis, a 4-week team pathway was entered mainly from emergency or acute care and discharged participants to community services; 6-month re-presentation was low, but no control group. RN Systematic Review 2025 Efficacy and cost-effectiveness of digital health interventions in improving hypertensive outcomes among patients with uncontrolled hypertension: A systematic review. International journal of nursing sciences Digital health interventions for uncontrolled hypertension improved self-management and blood pressure control, reduced cardiovascular risk, and two studies showed cost-effectiveness. They worked best when combined with provider support, especially nurse feedback and consultation, rather than stand-alone. Nursing & health sciences Older Vietnam-born adults with chronic disease relied on family and ethnic networks, often said they had enough support, but needed Vietnamese-language health information. Ask about carer burden and language before assuming they want formal self-management programmes. RN Other 2025 Health team practices to improve vaccination coverage of children in a favela. Revista da Escola de Enfermagem da U S P In a Rio de Janeiro favela, health teams used daily tracking, home searches, Saturday vaccination days, messaging and daycare visits. The report says all registered children aged 0 to 2 years had vaccination records updated, but it is not a trial. PT OT SLP RN Qualitative 2025 Walk for Mental Well-Being as a Third Place: A Qualitative Study of the Bathurst Men's Walk and Talk. The Australian journal of rural health Rural men described a weekly walk as a place where status is left at the door. Rituals like free coffee and walking in pairs facilitated conversation, helping isolated men feel safe to share personal struggles without clinical pressure. RN Systematic Review 2025 The Factors That Affect Sexual Safety on Adult Mental Health Inpatient Units: A Scoping Review and Content Analysis. International journal of mental health nursing Consumers and staff in adult mental health units described unsafe spaces, disbelieved reports and limited trauma training as threats to sexual safety. Women-only areas helped some feel safer, but did not alone solve it. RN Cohort 2025 Exploring Willingness: What Drives Dialysis Withdrawal Decisions in Patients With End-stage Renal Disease? A Cross-sectional Study. The journal of nursing research : JNR Willingness to withdraw from dialysis rose as hypothetical prognosis worsened, but more than half of 121 hemodialysis patients still preferred to continue. RN Other 2025 Translation, Cultural Adaptation and Validation of the Advance Care Planning Engagement Survey for Korean Older People. International journal of older people nursing A 12-item Korean survey identified three ways older people engage with advance care planning: thinking about it, readiness and confidence. It was adapted by removing decision-maker questions and rewording life-not-worth-living questions after pretest discomfort. RN Systematic Review 2025 Telenursing as an Effective Ally for Improving Patient Outcomes in Diabetes? An Umbrella Review. Nursing open Nurse-led telehealth for adults with diabetes was usually linked with better blood sugar control, self-management and less hospital use. Evidence quality was low, and effects varied by tool and diabetes type. Use it as an adjunct, not a replacement. Supply gaps and long trips shaped daily care. RN Other 2025 Association Between Smartphone Attachment and Mental Health in Adolescents. Journal of child and adolescent psychiatric nursing : official publication of the Association of Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Nurses, Inc Adolescents with stronger smartphone attachment reported more anxiety and depressive symptoms, even after accounting for sleep and overall health. Forty-five of 137 exceeded a moderate-to-severe attachment threshold and had higher anxiety and depression scores. RN Other 2025 Risk behavior for obesity: a conceptual analysis according to Walker and Avant. Revista brasileira de enfermagem No reviewed study clearly defined risk behavior for obesity. The concept centers on diet, physical inactivity, and general habits such as screen time, smoking, and alcohol, not risk factors like age, family history, conditions, or medications. RN Other 2025 Educational technology: educational video to support home care management for liver transplant patients. Revista brasileira de enfermagem Nine post-liver transplant patients rated a new home-care video highly. They found the step-by-step instructions for blood glucose monitoring, wound care, and insulin application clear and helpful for managing care at home. RN Systematic Review 2025 Social support for family caregivers of children and youth with special health care needs for home care: a scoping review. Revista da Escola de Enfermagem da U S P Family caregivers of children needing home care relied mainly on relatives, friends, other parents, volunteers and religious groups for emotional, practical and financial help. Formal health services were often secondary, leaving gaps in discharge guidance, benefits information and respite. RN Other 2025 The middle-range theory of the nursing diagnosis "ineffective health self-management". Revista brasileira de enfermagem A nursing framework for people living with HIV describes ineffective health self-management as difficulty, failure, abandonment, or refusal to reach agreed health goals. It maps factors such as stigma, mental disorders, and access barriers to outcomes including viral resistance. PT RN Systematic Review 2025 Effect of telemedicine on the quality of life of people with heart disease: a systematic review. Revista latino-americana de enfermagem Remote self-management care did not clearly improve quality of life across 44 heart-disease trials. 20 studies showed gains, 19 showed improvement without a clear advantage, and 5 showed none. No study found worse quality of life. RN Other 2025 The inclusion of pregnant women in research during disease outbreaks globally: A scoping review. Revista latino-americana de enfermagem Pregnant women were systematically excluded from most clinical trials during recent outbreaks, with exclusion rates between 52% and 97.8%. This lack of data forces clinicians to prescribe off-label without evidence of safety or efficacy for mothers and babies. This was a development report with no control group, so it shows the tool was well-received, not that it improves outcomes. RN Meta-Analysis 2025 The Effectiveness of Patient-Centered Digital Empowerment Programs in Hematological Cancer Care: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Randomized Controlled Trials. Worldviews on evidence-based nursing Fatigue did not improve when blood cancer patients used digital empowerment programs, but depression, distress, self-efficacy and quality of life showed small positive changes. Use them as support, not physical symptom treatment. RN Survey 2025 Attitudes toward caring for terminally ill patients among community nurses in Shanghai: A cross-sectional study. International journal of nursing sciences Community nurses in Shanghai reported moderate attitudes toward caring for terminally ill patients. Those with greater ability to cope with death and those who received blended death education held more positive attitudes. The lowest scores were for communicating with dying patients. Curationis South African school youth did not consistently identify legal and illegal abortion settings, and many reported staff disrespect, confidentiality concerns, language barriers, parental consent demands and long waits. RN Other 2025 In-home respite care in dementia: An evolutionary concept analysis. International journal of nursing sciences For dementia families, in-home respite care is described as a short, home-based substitution for caregiver duties, preserving routines and keeping the person at home. It is framed as patient- and caregiver-centered, not just household help. PT OT RN Systematic Review 2025 Quality of life experience in physically frail people on renal dialysis: A qualitative meta-synthesis on the difficulties and resources for better health care. International journal of nursing sciences Dialysis patients described frailty as limiting daily activity, increasing fall risk, and stripping work, family, and social roles. They also said teams underestimated falls, while family, peers, and exercise programs were reported as supports. RN RCT 2025 Effectiveness of a theory-based tailored individual and family self-management education in adults with uncontrolled diabetes: A randomized controlled trial. International journal of nursing sciences Adults with poorly controlled type 2 diabetes and a family member who received an 8-week multi-component self-management education improved self-management, lowered a blood marker of insulin resistance, and reduced diabetes distress versus usual care. RN RCT 2025 Effects of a culture-specific behavior modification program on glycated hemoglobin and blood pressure among adults with diabetes and hypertension: A randomized controlled trial. International journal of nursing sciences In 51 adults completing, a 12-week nurse-led Isan culture-specific behavior-change package lowered HbA1c from 8.65% to 7.95% and improved blood pressure control compared with usual care. Revista brasileira de enfermagem People with ALS going home need individualized transition plans: multidisciplinary care, discharge planning, telehealth, medication administration support, and caregiver training. This review mapped 7 studies, mostly expert opinion, so it shows what care looks like, not what works. RN Other 2025 ICNP® nursing diagnoses and outcomes for community mental health based on the Tidal Model. Revista brasileira de enfermagem 426 ICNP nursing diagnosis and outcome statements were constructed for community mental health using the Tidal Model. Most were not already in ICNP 2019/2020, and content validation is still needed. RN Qualitative 2026 Improving Community-Based Palliative Care Explanations: Insights From Persons Declining Services. The American journal of hospice & palliative care Patients and caregivers who declined community palliative care often confused it with hospice or knew only part of it. They wanted clear, tailored explanations that explained how it differs, what it offers, and how services work. RN Qualitative 2025 Within the Walls: Experiences of Admission to Psychiatric Hospital in Ireland Prior to 2001. International journal of mental health nursing Six people who were psychiatric inpatients in Ireland before 2001 described the hospital as isolating and confusing. They felt stripped of their identity as mothers or individuals, struggled to understand their treatments, and carried lasting trauma from electroconvulsive therapy and medication. RN RCT 2025 Preliminary Efficacy of a Self-Management Programme to Improve Quality-of-Life in Patients With Obesity and Osteoarthritis Awaiting Arthroplasty: A Randomised Trial. International journal of nursing practice Nurse-led self-management support improved mental health, coping and social functioning in obese patients waiting for joint replacement. Physical pain and overall quality of life scores did not differ from usual care. The intervention was feasible and delivered mostly by phone. RN Other 2025 Sustainable development and women's empowerment in vulnerable communities: an experience report. Revista brasileira de enfermagem Twenty-nine women entrepreneurs in vulnerable Brazilian communities attended workshops on business and health topics, including domestic violence and family planning. Participants reported increased self-esteem and self-care. The initiative helped formalize a seamstress cooperative and attracted local business partnerships. Intersectoral links with social services and professional proactivity were essential to navigate barriers and provide care to homeless persons. RN Systematic Review 2025 Social determinants of adherence to antiretroviral therapy among adolescents and young people living with HIV: a scoping review.
