The study was cross-sectional, so it cannot show whether the scale detects changes after support or over time. Parenting items were not fully tested because only 32 participants had children. Self-reports and proxy-reports were not equivalent, so proxy answers may overestimate or underestimate experiences and should be interpreted separately. Recruitment came through disability organisations, which may have excluded people who did not have access to those services. Responses may have been affected by social desirability, fatigue, acquiescence or the presence of support professionals. The sample was Spanish and used Spanish Easy-to-Read items, so results may not apply elsewhere. The paper could not examine equivalence across levels of support needs because the distribution did not allow it.
