They gave sweets to stop crying, relied on caregivers, and felt unable to control meals. PT OT SLP RN Systematic Review 2025 Care provided by humanoid robots: a scoping review. Investigacion y educacion en enfermeria Humanoid robots in healthcare were used mainly for social interaction, with some physical rehabilitation support and health information. This review mapped how they were used, not whether they improved patient outcomes. RN Other 2025 Serious game as an educational tool to promote the health of children and adolescents with cancer. Investigacion y educacion en enfermeria 15 children and adolescents with cancer rated a printed board game about cancer and treatment as acceptable for usability, with a mean score of 95.16 on a 0 to 100 scale. It did not show improved knowledge, anxiety, or clinical outcomes. RN RCT 2025 Improving respectful maternity care through group antenatal care: Findings from a cluster randomized controlled trial. Midwifery Pregnant women in group antenatal care reported more respectful experiences than routine care: fewer said they were treated differently because of personal attributes, and more found wait times and information acceptable. RN Systematic Review 2025 Effects of Nonpharmacological Interventions on Stress, Anxiety, and Depression of Pregnant Women: A Systematic Review and Network Meta-Analysis. Worldviews on evidence-based nursing Spiritual meditation ranked as the most effective nonpharmacological intervention for reducing stress, anxiety, and depression in pregnant women. Mindfulness-based stress reduction was the top choice specifically for stress. Most other therapies, including yoga and music, showed no significant benefit over standard prenatal care. RN RCT 2025 The Effect of Mother's Gentle Human Touch on Preterm Neonate's Pain and Maternal Anxiety During Venipuncture in Turkiye. Research in nursing & health Preterm babies whose mothers used gentle touch on the head and abdomen during blood draws had lower pain scores, less crying, lower heart rate and higher oxygen levels. Their mothers also reported less anxiety. All babies had mothers present, a lullaby, and standard care. RN Systematic Review 2025 Interventions to Support Psychological Health Outcomes for Children and Families Experiencing Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Admission: A Scoping Review. Nursing in critical care PICU family support evidence is thin: 10 small studies, many were information or psychoeducation, some reported lower parent anxiety or stress; no intensive clinical interventions were identified. For nurses, this supports structured titration and documentation, not a proven way to reduce opioids or ventilation time. Nursing & health sciences Across 21 randomized trials, psychosocial interventions for parents of children with cancer reduced anxiety, depression, stress, and improved quality of life. CBT and other approaches did not differ clearly, and long-term benefit is unclear. RN Cohort 2025 Analysis of Risk Factors and Nursing Strategies for Unplanned Extubation in Children: Retrospective Cohort Study. JMIR nursing Thirteen unplanned extubations occurred over six years in a pediatric surgery ward. Most happened to boys under three, during holidays, and when nurses were not at the bedside. RN Other 2025 The Application of a Combined Online and Offline Health Intervention Model for Assessing Parents' KAP About Testicular Torsion: A Self-Controlled Study. Nursing open Parents' stated knowledge, attitudes and intentions to seek care for testicular torsion improved after a 3-month package of lectures, brochures, WeChat science videos and expert micro-videos. No control group. RN Survey 2025 Evaluation of Satisfaction With Care in Paediatric Intensive Care Units: Swedish Parents' Perspective. Nursing in critical care Parents of children in Swedish paediatric intensive care rated care highly overall. They wanted clearer daily information about who was responsible, more involvement in decisions, and better discharge preparation, especially for infants and longer stays. RN RCT 2025 Screening Tools in School-Based Health Centers for Children With Asthma. The Journal of school health Asthma control did not differ significantly between intervention and control families in this 20-family pilot, but screening identified home triggers and legal concerns, and intervention families received home assessment/remediation and medical-legal referral when positive. RN Qualitative 2025 Experience of adolescents/young adults with chronic kidney disease and of their families during transition of care. Revista da Escola de Enfermagem da U S P Families of young people with chronic kidney disease described moving to adult clinics as losing trusted pediatric relationships and fearing more distant care. They wanted clear information, emotional support, and help letting adolescents speak for themselves. RN Qualitative 2025 Experience of Families During Admission of Their Minors to a Paediatric Intensive Care Unit: A Phenomenological Study. Scandinavian journal of caring sciences Families of children with long intensive care admissions described fear, anxiety, helplessness and loneliness, but also trust and comfort when staff communicated clearly, included them in care and taught practical tasks. RN Qualitative 2025 Knowledge of pregnant women living in riverside community about exclusive breastfeeding in the context of Primary Health Care. Nursing open Caregivers of teenagers with inflammatory bowel disease felt shocked, guilty and financially strained, but many found strength through family and healthcare team support. RN Qualitative 2025 Adolescent males' knowledge about safe sex in light of the Sustainable Development Goals. Revista brasileira de enfermagem Male adolescents linked safe sex almost exclusively to condom use and misunderstood the morning-after pill as STI prevention. They reported family silence due to taboos, viewing school as the only reliable space for education, though access often came after sexual initiation. RN Pilot 2025 A Family-Centred Paediatric Delirium Bundle: A Feasibility Study. Nursing in critical care Nurses and physicians found the paediatric delirium bundle acceptable, but parents reported only 6 of the 11 interventions were delivered in more than 80% of cases. Staff suggested simplifying it before a randomised trial. RN Qualitative 2025 Parents' Experiences With an Early Behavioral Intervention, H-HOPE, in the NICU and at Home: A Qualitative Study. Curationis Caregivers and providers described barriers to under-five care in sub-Saharan Africa: negative staff attitudes, language problems, stigma, long waits, distance, closed clinics, drug and staff shortages. RN Qualitative 2025 Cultural modulation of family care for technology-dependent children: an ethnographic study. Supply gaps and long trips shaped daily care. RN Cohort 2025 Observatório AlenRiscos - Prevention of the consumption of psychoactive substances among adolescents 3rd cycle. Revista brasileira de enfermagem Survey data from Alentejo adolescents shows a significant downward trend in tobacco, alcohol, and illicit drug consumption from 2016 to 2022. The study identifies age and peer influence as key factors associated with substance use. RN Cohort 2025 Maternal and neonatal outcomes of childbirth care in a Freestanding Birth Centre. Revista latino-americana de enfermagem Primiparous women at this birth center had higher rates of interventions and transfers than multiparous women. Despite this, overall maternal and neonatal outcomes remained positive, with low cesarean rates and good Apgar scores. Revista da Escola de Enfermagem da U S P Family caregivers of children needing home care relied mainly on relatives, friends, other parents, volunteers and religious groups for emotional, practical and financial help. Formal health services were often secondary, leaving gaps in discharge guidance, benefits information and respite. RN Other 2025 Predictors of inadequacy of prenatal tests of postpartum women: a cross-sectional study. Revista brasileira de enfermagem Among 300 postpartum women, 74.3% did not have all recommended prenatal tests. Being younger, rural, without a partner, low education, no paid work, low income, late prenatal start, few visits, and delayed test results were linked to this. Revista brasileira de enfermagem A comic book for school-aged adolescents about LGBT-phobic bullying was developed and reviewed by experts and 11 adolescents. It has not been tested to reduce bullying. RN Other 2025 Mobile Application Intervention for Prevention of Multiple Risk Behaviors among Thai Female Adolescents: A Quasi-experimental Study. International journal of community based nursing and midwifery A mobile app improved Thai girls' confidence and intention to avoid smoking, alcohol, and sex. However, the actual number of girls engaging in these behaviors did not drop significantly compared to the control group. RN Qualitative 2025 The role of the support network in a vulnerable mother's personal, emotional and professional life. Revista da Escola de Enfermagem da U S P Vulnerable mothers in Cape Verde reported that lack of support led them to quit work, rely on older children, resume abusive partners, or abandon personal goals. RN Systematic Review 2025 Instruments for Short-Term (24 h) Violence Risk Assessment and Strategies for Managing Violence Risk Among Adolescents With Risk for Violent Behaviour: A Systematic Review. International journal of mental health nursing Short-term violence risk tools exist for adolescents, with youth-specific versions predicting aggression better than adult ones. However, the review found no studies testing actual management strategies or whether these assessments reduce violence or restraint. Nurses should not assume using these tools improves safety. RN Qualitative 2025 Exploration of Informational Needs Regarding Childbearing in Iranian Women: A Qualitative Study. International journal of community based nursing and midwifery Women and experts described childbearing information needs: medical facts about fertility, birth and infertility, information on parenting, supportive examples of confident mothers, and social, cultural or religious information.
