Exercise, diet, self-management and surveillance support are framed as possible nursing targets, not proven effects. PT OT SLP RN Cohort 2026 Applying the Brief Interview for Mental Status in a Diverse Home Health Patient Population. Journal of the American Medical Directors Association Most home health patients score as cognitively intact on the BIMS, but non-English speakers and minority patients score lower regardless of actual ability. RN Systematic Review 2026 Application of Digital Health Interventions in Home Self-Management of Patients Undergoing Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement: A Scoping Review and Future Perspectives. Nursing open Digital tools for post-TAVR home care show promise in improving exercise capacity and reducing readmissions. However, evidence is weak for hard outcomes like mortality, and adoption is hindered by poor digital literacy, connectivity issues, and lack of insurance coverage. Nurse-led screening and simplified tools are key. RN RCT A Comparative Randomized Crossover Pilot Study Comparing Male External Urine Collection Devices in Home Settings. Journal of wound, ostomy, and continence nursing : official publication of The Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurses Society Both devices captured nearly all urine overnight, and no adverse events needed medical care. RN Other 2026 Family Care Management of Patients With Chronic Diseases: A Concept Analysis. Nursing open Family care management for chronic disease was defined as active family participation, holistic support, collaboration with providers, and adaptability. Nurses can use this as an assessment framework, but it is not evidence that it improves outcomes. RN Qualitative 2026 Why Women Don't Return: Nurse Perspectives on Follow-Up Care After Abnormal Cervical Cancer Screening Results in Mississippi's Public Health System. Public health nursing (Boston, Mass.) RN Survey 2026 Association Between Stroke-Related Knowledge and Self-Management Behaviours in Patients With Ischemic Stroke: Serial Mediation by Health Beliefs and Depression. Nursing open In patients recovering from ischemic stroke, better stroke knowledge was linked with stronger health beliefs, fewer depressive symptoms and better self-management. The paper cannot show knowledge caused these behaviours. RN Qualitative 2026 Focus Groups With American Indian/Alaska Native Adults to Discuss Substance Misuse and Access to Services. International journal of addiction nursing American Indian/Alaska Native participants said they are missing from state and federal data, and that stigma, historical trauma, and fear of child removal keep them from seeking substance use help. They asked for early, family-based prevention and culturally appropriate treatment. RN Other 2026 Effects of a Digital Decision Support System on Diabetes Management in a Real-World Home Care Setting: Prospective Quasi-Experimental Feasibility and Implementation Study. JMIR nursing Fewer emergency admissions and lower morning glucose were recorded while home care nurses used structured nursing training, GlucoTab, physician-guided insulin initiation and standardized insulin titration protocols. The small study cannot separate components. RN Systematic Review 2026 Daily care demands of children with complex chronic conditions at home: a scoping review. Revista brasileira de enfermagem Seven studies identified critical home care needs for technology-dependent children: respiratory management, ostomy care, and skin protection.
